Data Management: Using Data to Drive Performance

23 November 2017

Mapping out the value stream is an effective first step to identify process waste and inefficiency in the organisation, but the numbers used to understand the current condition are critical. As the saying goes, “you can’t manage what you don’t measure”. Completing the journey from value-stream map to a set of effective countermeasures requires the collection and analysis of data for key metrics across the value stream. This can ultimately provide a detailed view of the problem faced and offer clear insight into the improvement opportunities available.

In this highly interactive workshop, participants were taken through the step-by-step process of developing a value stream map, focusing on key metrics, including lead time, quality and cost. A focus was placed on the critical points of data collection and analysis of this data, necessary to drive improvements in the organisation.

The programme included:

=

Decoding Throughput through Value Stream Mapping

=

Measuring Key Performance Areas: Quality and Lead Times

=

Measuring Key Performance Areas: Costing

=
